I Just Want to Throw You Over my Shoulder and Take You Home with Me

So this weekend I had a fun filled weekend with fun filled friends at Hoopfest here in Spokane...the largest 3 on 3 Tournament ON EARTH!!! For some reason when people are drunk around me they realize how short I am and have the need to let me know..and sometimes proceed to try to pick me up. For example, I met this really cool guy who told me, "You're so small, I just want to pick you up throw you over my shoulder and take you home with me." This is not the first time I have been told something like this.

I get it, I'm short. But I don't understand why people think they need to tell me that I am short, or feel the need to pick me up to prove to the world that I am a small person and can be easily picked up.

No Worries. Lots of Roads.

Today was the NBA draft. I'm sad to say Matty B did not make the cut. So many of my favorite GU Basketball memories include the great Matty B!!! He is greatly missed here in Spokane...especially at the Marquee!

Fun Fact: Matt and I share the same birthday.

In the words of Matt Bouldin's twitter after the draft ended, "No Worries. Lots of Roads."

My Co-Workers are Pretty Funny

Sometimes I really love working in H.R. Last weekend I was in charge of coordinating/working at our company's annual Golf Tournament. Max had no idea this was going to happen.

Song of the post: Billionaire by Bruno Mars and Travie McCoy..cause as I was driving around the golf course and thinking how I wanted to be a billionaire and live in some of those ammaazzzing houses.

People the World Needs Most

Adam Morrison is now a 2-time NBA Champ. For those of you who don't know, he went to GU while I was there and decided not to finish school and play for the NBA. The video below basically encompasses all that Adam did for his team this year..and last year. I can't stop watching...and laughing. Gonzaga University is "educating the people the world needs most"...obviously.

*You will have to fast forward to about 1:22.

Protect and Guard Her Heart...

So I haven't really watched much of the last few seasons of the Bachelor or Bachelorette, but for some reason I have gotten into this latest season with Ali. One of the bachelors, Kasey Kahl, is completely off of his rocker. This guy is a creepy mccreepertin and it frightens me to know that people like him actually exsist on this Earth. Seriously. He has serious issues, and needs help. I hope his family is watching this and is makig sure he seeks help IMMEDIATELY after leaving this show. I honestly believe the show is forcing Ali to keep him just to keep viewers watching. He is completely off of his rocker. If you have a few 10-15 minutes you HAVE to watch these. You will ot be disappointed. Make sure to watch them in order!

Song of the day: OMG by Usher...because that's what I thought when I first heard Kasey sing...and it has a good beat.

San Francisco

I just got back from San Francisco a few days ago and had a fantastic time! It was great to explore the city and take everything in. One of my favorite parts about San Fran is how diverse, open and free everyone seems to be.

Example #1
We went Doloros Park to have some lunch and these 2 men were laying out in the park in their underwear, the same park where children were playing, people were eating and walking their dogs.

Example #2
We were walking downtown when this guy rode up in his pimped out bike. Oblivious to it being any different from any other bike riding down the street.

I think this is pretty awesome, and hope someday I can be just as free with myself and who I am as the people I saw in San Francisco.

Song of the trip: Money Can't Buy You Class by Luann from Real Housewives of NY..listen to it once and it will be stuck in you head for days!

St. Anthony

A few months ago when I went to the visit my family, my grandma explained to me that she was watching the Mass on the Catholic Channel (which she does on a daily basis) and heard the priest say that if a woman wanted to find her soul mate she would need to kneel in front of a statue of St. Anthony and “beg” him to find her a husband. Grams felt it was vital to give me this information. I thanked her and asked her to please continue praying for me. She then proceeded to bring me all sorts of prayer cards and St. Anthony medals she has gotten in the mail throughout the years, hoping they would somehow help me in my search for a husband. A few weeks later, I called my grandma and she politely asked me, “Have you been praying to St. Anthony?” I responded to her, “Yes Grandma,” in which she responded, “And nothing has happened yet??” I am all about praying and believing in a higher power, but this was just all a little too much for me.

I get it, in the words of MC Hammer, we’ve got to pray just to make it today, and I cannot even count how many times I have prayed to St. Anthony to help me find stuff, but I don’t understand the constant pressure to find a husband. I would much rather wait 10 years to find the right guy then settle for someone tomorrow and not be completely happy. I know in the long run it will all be worth it. I have seen too many people in my life stuck in a bad relationship only because they feel they won’t be able to find someone else. At the same time I’m getting a little impatient. So, St. Anthony, if you are reading this (which I’m sure you are) help a sister out!

Song of the day: Break Your Heart by Taio Cruz because I just love this song, and it basically is the story of my love life.
